The LXD, short for the Legion of Extraordinary Dancers, is a web series from director John M. Chu about a group of dancers who also serve as a justice league of superheroes, even without traditional supernatural powers. Instead, they possess extraordinary powers of dance, and a mysterious outfit known as the LXD recruits them. There is also the hint of evil in the form of a shadow woven throughout the episodes, suggesting another entity that uses supernatural powers of dance in a bad way. As the story unfolds, it is told not just through dialogue but through extraordinary dance sequences that leave no question about why these dancer's abilities can turn them into superheroes. The actors on the show are relatively unknown except for their experience in the dance and choreography communities, with the notable exception of Harry Shum Jr., who stars as choir member Mike Chang on the hit Fox show Glee. The core group of the show's main characters has done performances opening for the Glee tour, on So You Think You Can Dance, and at The Oscars.
