EDITThe Vampire Diaries: A Darker Truth is a four-episode supernatural-fantasy web series developed as a prequel to the CW's The Vampire Diaries, based on the book series of the same name, as it follows a man named Jason (Matt Perello) who searches for his sister's murderer. The trail leads to the town of Mystic Falls, Virginia, where Jason feels the killer, whomever or whatever it is, is still there. The Vampire Diaries: A Darker Truth is a web-original lead-in to CW's popular vampire series with brief introductions to the Salvatore family, Damon and Stefan (Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley), and the dangerous underbelly of a quaint Virginia town. Is one of the Salvatore's to blame? Will Jason ever find the truth?
