Thirty Days NY

Show Summary

Thirty Days NY is a unique art showcase, designed by Ben Jones, that was completed in the span of 30 days in New York City. The gallery was curated by a local bookstore, and with the help of the community, the challenge was to build, organize and then present the gallery from April 7 - May 7th, 2010. The short time frame meant some contemporary artists were allowed to take up residency in the Tribeca gallery space in order to complete their art projects on time. These experiences were documented on film as Thirty Days NY produced a web series showing the making of the gallery and interviews with the artists. Artistic freedom was represented in other ways as well as the series invited indie bands such as The Lucky Dragons to play in the gallery. Many reviewers positively regarded the Thirty Days NY project as a true celebration of the merger of arts and culture.
