LaundroMatinee's Video Sessions

Show Summary

LaundroMatinee's Video Sessions is a online video series featuring live performances by independent bands and solo artists. Craig "Dodge" Lile and Jeff DuPont lit the fire for the peculiar music site back in 2006, with audio recordings of various independent bands, starting with their initial capture of a performance from Catfish Haven. Somewhere along the line they enlisted videographer Tim Wilsbach to film the sessions, and from there the project began to take serious shape. The first band to be featured in LaundroMatinee's Video Sessions was Bon Iver, and since putting the show online in 2008, word has spread that Lile and DuPont have a pretty cool little show on their hands. Seeking out original and unique musicians, the sessions showcase talent, and while being mainstream is certainly not at all a requirement, bands like The Dandy Warhols have joined emerging groups like The Young Republic and Ben Sollee to fill out an enigmatic lineup. The site has interviews and blogs that keep users in touch and informed, but the real draw here is the performances. Very special, and very good, LaundroMatinee's Video Sessions are a must see for fans of independent music.
