Yelle is a French dance-pop band fronted and named by Yelle, (born Julie Budet), and her longtime friends and producers GrandMarnier (Jean-Francois Perrier) and Tepr (Tanguy Destable). They released their debut album, Pop-Up (Astralwerks), in 2007, a combination of '80s inspired pop and electronic music, sung entirely in French. They released their sophomore album, Safari Disco Club (Downtown), in March 2011, having worked nearly two years on the album. They also worked with other pop artists, including swaping covers with Robyn (they covered her song "Who's That Girl?" and Robyn covered their "A Cause Des Gar?ons"), remixing Katy Perry, and collaborating with Crookers.
