Nancy does her best to cope with the loss of Conrad's help, who runs into some trouble while venturing out on his own. Andy is still trying to get into rabbinical school by writing an essay on what being Jewish means to him. And Silas deals with Megan's acceptance to Princeton in his own unique way.

Conrad decides that he has talent of his own, he splits from the comfortable apron strings of Heylia James, but he soon realises that this venture is going to be harder than he first imagined and he is soon in trouble. I Had this feeling that he was going to team up with Nancy, because of her lack of understanding of the weed market. Something that Doug and Andy appreciate very much, the scenes with those two discussing everything, the look on Nancy's face just sums up her understanding as she had the expression on her face, that just said she had absolutely no idea what those two were talking about, she is so out of her depth.
Silas initially shows that he is so pleased that Megan got accepted into Princeton, then he is trying to establish his own schooling to coincide so that they can be together, he even contemplated the aspect of dropping out and then going to work in New Jersey. Will he result to a very drastic and not a recommended method of keeping her for himself, this will have consequences for sure.
Celia's campaigning for being on the council gets underway, she decides that she needs a family approach and this will require a portrait as such, it ends in alot of facial expressions that had me in stitches.
I think there was a little heartache for Nancy when she had to dump Peter, because of the conflicts of both their livelihoods, but his dropped bombshell was so unexpected and just out of the blue, what an excellent way to finish the episode.

Fabulous episode with some fantastic scenes and magnificent acting.
The weed market scene was sooo much fun to watch. Just watching the reactions of Doug and Andy was great, added to that was Nancy's face who realises she has no clue whatsoever and is in waaay above her head. Very well written and acted as great stage managing too.
Celia's running for the council was a great idea and her photoshoot was a riot. Somehow her facial expressions are half the fun of the scene. The same goes for her verbal sparring with Doug, excellent writing and great delivery of lines.
I think Silas needs a reality check. The way he acted towards Megan was atrocious. I used to like him, but if this is what teenage angst does to him, I hope he grows up soon.

Nancy goes to a very secret convention. Celia continues to campaign and plans the "perfect photo". Megan gets accepted at a prestigious college much to Silas's dismay. Conrad tries unsuccessfully to go on his own. Nancy gets another huge surprise! hide show
This episode was a pure laugh-riot! Celia and Doug play off each other fantastically (Elizabeth Perkins and Kevin Nealon show what they're worth consistently) as they insult each other in a genius scene. Justin Kirk continues to make Andy one of the most hilarious characters on the tube today (his best talents are a showcase on this episode)! The scene of the convention was one of the funniest of the series- bar none. This episode is also a great example of how so many storylines become affected by one scene- the cup being the scene in this one! No matter how many times this episode made me laugh, it still needed to give me another strong emotion to reach that "superb" level! It did as I got quite a shock by the ending of this one! All in all, this one had good rewatchability factor! I also cannot forget how Romany Malco makes Conrad's search one you won't forget!
With conrad gone, Nancy takes Doug and Andy to the Mohasky Cup to find a new plant strain to sell in their expanding business. Peter refuses to be broken up with and reveals a secret that changes their relationship. Silas has issue with Megan going away. hide show
This show is always worth watching, if not for the death cab cutie version of "Little Boxes", then for the excellent character driven scenes. This particular episode is enjoyable, but i know there is better to come. The episode is funny (there has been funnier), and has a powerful cliff-hanger ending (however, slightly predictable).
