William: (on playing Hamlet at the Colorado Shakespeare Festival) It was heaven. Playing one of the greatest roles ever written and getting paid for it was a fabulous revelation. I had a wonderful time.

William: (on playing the guitar) I was never a great player but I loved to perform. I listened to folks like Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan, and Woody Guthrie and tried to sound like them. I'm sure I wasn't very good but what I lacked in musical chops, I made up for in volume and enthusiasm!
