    7.5 Good

Jack and the team investigate the disappearance ofa thirteen year-old girl who's divorced parents struggle constantly with custody issues. Elsewhere, Jack and Sam's relationship hits another stumbling block. hide show

This episode is certainly better than the previous two, but it's not an episode that I would call a favorite of mine. In the beginning I found it easy to sympathize with Daphne, but when she made herself up to look like the missing girl Amber and went to Amber's parents' home, that sympathy diminished. If Daphne did in fact intend to lie to Amber's family and claim to be their missing daughter, I think that's pretty sick. At least Daphne soon realized what she did was wrong. Mediocre episode. I hope the show gets better as the season continues.

  • Jack: (Talking to baby Finn) You know, you and I have a lot in common. We like things the way we like 'em, and we're not really gonna change. But, let me give you some advice, and, you can take it or not. Don't make the same mistakes I did. We should seriously have this conversation, and then we should get down to this whole going to sleep thing. Alright? The thing that I really want to tell you is, that um, I always wanted to do things my own way because I always felt like it made me look stronger, or...It doesn't really matter. If you keep executing the same plan over and over and over and it results in failure, then it's stupid. So wh-what I did was, I let your mother take control of the wheel. And it's really working great, because she feels more involved, you know? And, and - she's very...She's a very special woman, your mother. (Knock at the door) []
  • Vivian: You just got a fax from the Havenhurst Girls' School. Is Daphne applying there?
Sam: No, it's for Hannah. We're trying to get her in.
    Vivian: Hmm.
    Sam: I just said "we," didn't I?
    Vivian: Mm-hmm.
Sam: I'm just helping Jack get-- it's-- it's not an official we we.
Vivian: Do you want it to be?
Sam: You know, I'm just taking it one day at a time. []
