  Outstanding episode! hide show

  I thought that this episode was really good. Very interesting plot and great execution. If you are a fan of "Yes, Dear" like myself then you should have no trouble finding this episode to be good. I would call this episode one of the best from season 3, but then again season 3 did have a lot of good episodes. The whole plot with Jimmy being dumb and wanting to go back to the sixth grade to learn some stuff that he missed out on was alright but I found the side plot with Greg to be the highlight of this episode.

• Jimmy comes to realize that he's dumb at math and science, but Dominic helps him realize that he's a smart mechanic. However, when Dominic asks, "What's that?" on the lawn mower, Jimmy says it's a distributor cap. That mower wouldn't have a distributor cap; there wouldn't be enough cylinders. [edit]
• Greg remarks, "Up to the age of seven, I couldn't figure out why I had a box of sixty-four gray crayons." Contrary to a common misconception, almost all color-blind people merely experience difficulty or inability to distinguish between specific colors, not a thorough lack of color perception. The condition that Greg describes (total color-blindness, also known as complete achromatopsia or rod monochromatism) is a very rare hereditary disorder -- requiring the passage of defective genes by both parents -- and is accompanied by significant visual impairment and extreme light sensitivity. (In addition to seeing poorly, its sufferers squint in even low-light situations.) Conversely, Greg demonstrates normal visual acuity, along with the ability to spend hours outdoors in direct California sunlight without even bothering to wear sunglasses. [edit]
