    9.7 Superb

Jimmy and Christine deal with their son's rampant lying. Caught between their love for their child and the need to discipline him, they stumble onto a clever solution. hide show

I stumbled onto this episode just as Dominic's parents stumbled onto how to discipline their son, and I was just as pleasantly surprised. It is not every day that one sees quality television like this. Overall, "Yes, Dear" is a well written show, but this particular episode excells. The story deals with a common yet sensitive family issue in a heart warming way that harkens back to the classic "Cosby Show" sensibility. Excellent!

A word of caution: not for the violent at heart. This is not for the "CSI" or "24" fan, but is definately as strong of a story.

  • Jimmy: Hey, uh, if Dominic asks, just uh, just tell him I went to the grocery store.
Christine: You want me to lie to him?
Jimmy: Yeah. I'll be back around eleven to give you your spanking. []
  • Christine: (to Jimmy) How hard did you hit him?
Greg: (whining) Hard! He hit him hard! []
  • Christine: What happened to Big, Bad Daddy?
Jimmy: I made him up. He's not a real person. []
