Muno's family visits and teaches the gang about their ancestry. Also, The Roots perform.
In the tradition of Rompa Room and Barney and Friends , Yo Gabba Gabba! is a fun way for your young children to learn. Aimed at ages one and up, this DJ Lance Rock-hosted show features friendly toy monsters like Muno, Foofa the pink flower bubble, Plex the robot, Toodee the blue cat-dragon, and… More Brobee the green little one; in cheery, colorful environments filled with music, dance, life lessons and colorful cartoons.

So many great facets of this show, it's hard to pick one outstanding feature. hide show
Yo Gabba Gabba is probably my favorite kiddy show on TV right now, and I have a toddler, so you know I'm watching a lot of kid-vid. In the grand tradition of Sid and Marty Krofft, the creators (who are very talented musicans already) add 21st century technology and 8 bit graphics to create something that is a hodge-podge of current pop-culture that touches on the nostalgia of the past.
YGG is a show that practically demands your child get up and dance, and that's a good thing. The musical acts are some of the best around, including The Roots, The Aquabats, Supernova, The Ting Tings and many more. Heck even Paul Williams guest-starred in an episode sing his classic "The Rainbow Connection" best known from the Muppet Movie.
Taking their designs from the Designer Vinyl movement (Kid Robot created the original toys for the five main creatures), each of the "monsters" has a unique design that complements their characters. As the nominal "host" DJ Lance Rock provides all the encouragement that kids need to get moving, and his guest-stars are a who's who of pop-culture celebs (Tony Hawk, Laila Ali, Elijah Wood, Sugarland, Jack Black, Rachel Dratch and Nikki Flores have all appeared). Plus you have to love some of the recurring guests, Mark Mothersbaugh (founding member of DEVO) does a regular drawing segment and Biz Markie does his 'Biz Beats of the Day'.
If you don't like something about Yo Gabba Gabba, there's something wrong with you.
And I thought Barney was annoying. hide show
Who comes up with this stuff anyway. I have had many times when I switch the channel to Indonesian news instead of watching this stuff. Okay its for 1 year olds and above, so does that include an adult or teenager as well.
The african/American man in the Orange jumpsuit is really the main thing that ticks me off. More than half the time i swear he is GAY (not thats its bad) its just i dont like people who act gay I like presenters with some normality.
The best part is when the end credits come and where my rating comes from.
Please take the show off, its not educational not fun. Sesame Street is educational and fun not that.
This show is excellent! It teaches basic good values and habits. I find it particularly amusing that it is based on low tech 80's video game technology combined with British Invasion music styles. My 18 month old is glued to the screen and my 13 year old can't take his eyes off of the screen when it is on! This show got my 18 month old (then 10 months) dancing before we knew he could! We love the positive messages, the energetic dancing, and we love the characters! I'm glad that finally there is an educational show which is fun, catchy and goofy at the same time! It gets our children out of their chairs and doing something energetic! Yes, initially seeing the characters the first time appears freaky, trippy and even scary, however we have grown to love them!
We particularly like the new Jack Black episode and would like to see more of the guest stars other than just the Dancy Dance segment.
One suggestion (the reason for the -0.5 in my rating) is poor continuity and sometimes incorrect grammar should be corrected before the show goes live, other than that, EXCELLENT WORK! We can't wait to see more new episodes!
I can't watch 2 seconds of this. I hate this show so much. I hate how if goes: "I'm toodee t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-toodee" This show is just plain bizarre. I mean the monsters are always smiling. It is soooooooooooo creepy. I mean if they're sad, they are still smiling! This show is annoying too. I just hate every single bit of this show. I mean in this one episode, all that they talked about was being happy! It got so annoying that I wanted to scream! i just hate this show. It is just plain garbage. It is even worse than Dora! This show is just plain idiotic.
Yo Gabba Gabba combines colorful characters, Muno, Foofa, Brobee, Toodee, Plex and DJ Lance Rock, with music (performed by real bands) and fun dance moves. This a modern spin on Barney but much cooler. hide show
This show is awesome. My 2 year old daughter has enjoyed this show since she was 1. This is a show that my husband and I enjoy watching too.
I really like how music, dancing and life lessons are incorporated all incorporated together. The characters are well-developed, each have their own distinct personalities, and are lovable and identifiable to a child.
The kid-friendly, catchy, repetitive songs are performed by real bands feel natural, not forced and are fun to sing-along. Dance moves are easy, fun and get the kids (and parents) off their bums to participate in the fun.
The short animated clips are cute and all have great underlying messages for kids to enjoy. I really like how the guest kids chosen for each episode vary in age, gender and cultural background, something I truly support and appreciate.
Yo Gabba Gabba is one of the better kid shows that I let my daughter watch. She's not just sitting and watching and learning anymore, not she's singing, dancing, learning while having fun. I totally recommend Yo Gabba Gabba to any parent.
