Yugioh GX is set some time into the future. It's all about a boy called Jaden Yuki, who dreams of going to Duel Academy, and when he does, Duel Academy is put in some tricky situations, meaning the whole colour grade system is turned topsy turvy. hide show
Yugioh GX stars Jaden Yuki, an average kid when he first arrives at duel academy, but a not even a human being when he leaves in the fourth season, due to all the tricky situations he's been through, like the shadow riders, the society of light and YUBEL. And they are all pretty bad experiences, though thankfully, none of them lead to any deaths, well, in the first season Professor Banner turns into a pile of sand, (Like Professor Quirell in Harry Potter.)And unless you count it as a death, then yes there was one death, but Professor Banner's ghost lives on.
Jaden Yuki, a Slifer Red student, who wants to become the future king of games. hide show
The show is good and all, but my problem with the show would be, that 4kids didn't do a very decent job. I like the show, but compared to the Japanese version, it is done poorly, the storyline is different, and some things are censored, I understand that 4kids is trying to make this show watchable for all ages, but it's not like little kids haven't seen blood, or death. I don't mind them keeping out the bad language, but censoring blood and a death scene? Come on 4kids, you can do much better then that. I wish 4kids would have at least released a uncut season dvd of the show, and what really dissappointed me, is how 4kids ended the show. I know that they want to focus on 5D's for the time being, but why not finish GX first? In my opinion it would have been so much easier. Hopefully 4kids, will one day, listen to the anime fans, and continue dubbing GX, that's all I have to say. I'm not a 4kids hater, I'm just giving them a few tips to make their company a success, I respect 4kids effort in dubbing these shows, and I know it is very hard to dub these shows. But please 4kids at least listen to the anime fans.
This show is crap, why people like this show, I just don't like this sequel, because they what?????, ok let's tell the plot, it's all about the boy named uhhhh... I forgot his name though... he's just an amateurish duelist. The monsters in this sequel stinks, like more robots and humanoids but were are the monster and the names of it is even worst than the Yu-Gi-Oh.
Animation:
Often realistic, but there's nothing mean to you.
Voice acting:
Great in the original version, but the voice in the English dub, although I haven't heard of it.
Characters:
There were quite ok.
Dialogues:
Average dialogues, but there's nothing speicial
Plots:
No decent plots, its all about dueling and stuff.
Overall: Bad
Meaningless realistic animation,Ok Characters, Average dialogues and No decent plots.
This isn't even close in being better than the new yu- gi- oh 5ds and no where near in being as good as the oringinal series that was amazing, but I guess it is still good. I mean a few episodes are smexy, cute, or just very funny/ silly/ stupid/ Jaden didn't duel so it rocks, but it isn't that special.
Overall, it could have been MUCH better than the oringinal, but of course, it was ruined completely. The third and fourth seasons got canceled in america. Now that's kind sad for one of the best card games in America.
The old series was alright but this series is pretty good. hide show
I've never really been a fan of the original series, it was alright to watch once, but it got a bit boring, way to predictable and the seasons were kind of the same, in my opinion… no offence to anyone who liked it. Where as with Yu-Gi-Oh GX they have stepped up a notch, made the series more modern and interesting, along with better characters.
In Yu-Gi-Oh GX they have keep the story modernish, making it more likable to others, than the original. Each season is new and isn't repetitive and gets better each season. The third season is the best, and I like how they actually kept Jaden's dark side as such but have him still be able to save his friends where as in the original Yugi overcame it every time, kind of boring.
As stated before the characters are so much more interesting, with better personalities, we can relate to them better and there are quite a few dark characters such as Zane, Jaden etc. There is also no more weird Egyptian concepts mixed into either.
In my opinion definitely a better series, faster paced and suspenseful and a must watched if you like the original.
