    My guilty pleasure since I was 7! :) hide « show »

Like most animes I loved when I was little, Yu-Gi-Oh was another that my sis got me into, and even after 8 years I still love it! I can't describe what I love about it, but it's one of those childhood things that you can't let go of!

Even though I usually don't like characters who are always so serious, I LOVE Yami and wish he never left! He made the show what it is and is an awesome protagonist! He's honestly more significant to the seires then Yugi (who I use to like as well [never as much] until episode 163 [see my review for it]). And while everyone seems to hate her, I LOVE Anzu almost equally (and they make the best YGO couple ever)! That's pretty much the prime reason episode 53 is my fave! It would have been nice to see her do more in the series though.

While some will want to kill me after reading this part, I absolutely despise Kaiba. Yeah, the antagonist/anti-hero (whatever you think he is) is suppose to be an a**hole but he was what I consider 'over exaggeration of negative human qualities'. 'Nough said.

All I can say to end this is I heart YGO! :)

    5 Mediocre

A midly interesting show but it brought us into the wonderful and vast world of dueling. hide « show »

This is watch able but I wouldn't want to watch it more than once. An interesting concept that started a great game and series to come but the show itself could get a little boring in some places, and then it would have some long stretched out duel that wasn't always that interesting. Some of the characters were alright but others just plain annoying. Each season tended to get repetitive in a sense. Sorry to those who like the original I just didn't get into it that much, the game on the other hand was a different story.

This is the series that started it all. hide « show »

It was okay, but personally out of all three series this was my least favorite. It is not that I had anything against it, the show itself was cool, it was just that some times the episodes weren't as exciting as others, I guess is one a way of putting it. It would have been nice to see a version closer to the original. But I got the gist of what happened because back then all I cared about was the duel and seeing the new cards. My favorite duels would have to be the first one between Yugi and Kaiba, the Egyptian God clash between Yugi and Kaiba, Yugi and brain-controlled Joey, Joey and Valon, and Yugi and Atem. And I liked most of the characters in the show. But the later half of the final season, although needed to fully explain Atem's history, was kind of boring, although the final duel between Atem and Yugi was cool. And even though it was kind of dumb of me to do so when I first started playing Yu-Gi-Oh I followed the rulings in the show until I actually read the rule book. Overall, it was pretty exciting and I would like to watch the original version, but some of the duels were too long unlike in GX and 5Ds where duels lasted one-three episodes.

    7.5 Good

i have some issues with it, but for the most part i like it. hide « show »

this was the second anime show that i ever watched (sorry, yugioh, g gundam will ALWAYS be first) and when i first got into it i was borderline fanatical. i loved every bit of it (but hey i was like... 12 at the time, cut me some slack.) at this point i've sort of outgrown the show (english sub included) but i still think of it fondly. the 4kids version sucked big time; true version was FAR superior. i liked the characters, but the plot sort of fell apart for me when i realized "hey wait...this is a card game..." oh well; you gotta take the good with the bad sometimes. so all in all, the card game dynamic bothered me a lot, but i still do like the show.

    10 Perfect

Yu-Gi-Oh is an awesome show! hide « show »

Yu-Gi-Oh is an absolutely brilliant anime created by Genius Kazuki Takahashi. Yugi Moto, the main character on the show, goes through battles using Cards like in the original series that only aired in Japan. Some characters carry an Millennium Item, Yugi has the Millennium Puzzle which when he put together, the soul of an Egyptian Pharoah "Yami" is released and possesses Yugi's body, Ryou(The cutie) Bakura carries the Millennium Ring which an evil spirit is whihin the Ring and wants all the Millennium Items and more characters with Items ect. Yu-Gi-Oh is still brilliant, but when 4Kids bought it, they changed way to much, letters were removed, things were replaced, but even worse, the Dialogue was changed, and the plot kept changing and is way, WAY differant to the Japanese plot. Besides 4Kids Entertainment, Yu-Gi-Oh is still awesome. I was about Nine or Ten when I startd watching it, and I just loved it. Yu-Gi-Oh can also help improve childrens Math Skills, the later episodes get good involving Egyptian Arcs! Yu-Gi-Oh is a totally awesome anime and very addicting, one of the best out there.
