Spirit World is under water after an abnormally powerful tsunami hits. Koenma gives Botan a strange item to give to Yusuke. However, she is badly injured during her trip from Spirit World to Human World, and is unable to tell Yusuke something very important. Meanwhile, a great evil is beginning to rise, and a new world is revealed, the Netherworld. Spirit World is now flooded, and Yusuke and the crew must find the five elemental sites to restore Spirit World. There are some powerful opponents standing in their way, however. As Yusuke must fight the king of the Netherworld, Hiei must battle with a god who also has a Jagan eye, Kurama must confront someone from his past, and Kuwabara has to defeat a god who can copy his every move. The fight to save Spirit World begins...
Koenma is kidnapped by two demons known as Garuga and Koashura. They demand a ransom for his release. What the demons want, the Golden Seal. It is said that whoever has the seal is considered the ruler of Spirit World. It's up to Yusuke, along with his friends, to stop them.
High school student Kazuma Kuwabara is having a typical day. He is studying hard for his college entrance exams and fending off the flirtatious glances from his female admirers. But nothing could prepare him for what happens when he arrives at a mysterious meeting with Genkai. Surprise follows surprise as one by one each member of the old gang shows up! But where is Yusuke?
With the fight between Yusuke and Yomi finally over, everyone prepares to leave for Human World. But Yusuke lags behind to resolve some of his own problems.
As the fighters make their way through the main bracket of the Demon World Tournament, Yusuke Urameshi finds himself staring down Yomi. Both powerful warriors had their own reasons for entering, but one soon learns that he may not have any reason to continue. Which will be left standing when the dust settles?
In the next match of the tournament, Hiei steps into the ring of battle against his former ally, Mukuro. But Mukuro has already explored the horrors of Hiei's past and knows his thirst for revenge. Will this give the bizarre, shackled fighter the advantage? As a last result Hiei prepares his ultimate weapon, the Dragon of the Darkness Flame!
The next fight in the Demon World tournament starts, Kurama versus Shigure. The fight isn't the only thing on Kurama's mind however, as he has to deal with his feelings. Can Kurama manage to defeat both his inner demons and Shigure?
As the tournament progresses some of the fighters we have come to know are surprisingly defeated. It is unclear to some of the fighter's motivations of entering, but for most it is the chance to fight and defeat Yusuke.
As the tournament to decide the king of Demon World wraps up it's preliminary round, one match continues to wage on. A father and son were pitted against each other in the random drawing. Now the vigor of youth has to beat out the patience of age. Which one will come out on top? Who will finally advance to the main tournament?
To avoid an all-out war, Yomi and Mukuro have decided to go along with Yusuke's plan. A brief patch of peace has covered Demon World, but the battle for supremacy is beginning. Who will be triumphant in the tournament and gain control of this world?
Raizen's death has upset the balance of power in Demon World. Now it is up to Yusuke to prevent the threat of total upheaval. As Mukuro and Yomi prepare their next move, Yusuke arrives at a brilliant decision that just might preserve the peace. But at what cost?

Control of Demon World is divided among three rulers: Raizen, Yomi and Mukuro. From his deathbed, Raizen has invited his descendant, Yusuke Urameshi, to return to Demon World to train under him for one climactic battle. Yusuke's first challenge is to defeat his ancestor. If he cannot defeat one of the three kings, how could he expect to stand up to the other two?!
Hiei and Kurama receive invitations from the two other kings of the Demon World, which if they accept, could mean they may be possibly fighting Yusuke. Meanwhile, Yusuke prepares himself to go, but he finds out that the only thing more difficult than making an irreversible decision is trying to convince Kayko that everything will be all right. But how will it end?
While visiting a former Spirit Detective, Yusuke encounters three strangers from Demon World who have a message for him. Yusuke learns of a war between the kings of Demon World, which if escalated could spell disaster for everyone in Human World. Yusuke must travel deep into the heart of Demon World to make sure the wrong demon doesn't gain power, so he must leave his life behind, and once again fight for the human race.
Yusuke Urameshi suffers from a recurring nightmare that he just can't shake. Is this a mere inconvenience? Or are there deeper meanings hidden behind the bizarre occurrences? Genkai sends Yusuke to the home of a former Spirit Detective. But what he doesn't know is that someone knows his destination...and more about his past than he ever thought possible!
