Two mysterious shadowed people watch footage of the Energy Liger, and identify it by name. They say mysterious things. PLOT CHANGE!
RD and Dan visit Dr Pierce and show him the footage of the EL. He points out that its like no Zoid he's seen before, and deduces that its cannons use an "unknown" form of energy. He then dubs it the "Energy Liger." Natch.
Sandra holds a meeting, and points out that all three Savage Hammer Zoids are write-offs, not even good for scrap metal. She assures Blake not to worry, as she'll get him a new Zoid. Blake is not impressed, and storms out. He goes down to the hanger and, after glaring at Luke, takes a huge-arse shoulder-mounted beam cannon out of the inventory (kinda like the one Brad used against the Sinkers) and walks off.
Meanwhile, at a Mach Storm meeting, Hop points out that they're in debt again, and all their Zoids are in for repairs, except LZ. Sweet adds that they've got a job, rounding up more wild Unenelagia. She tells RD that he can do it, but he's not paying attention. He instead goes out saying that he's going to catch the EL.
…several hours later, he's wandering around, lost in the desert. Sweet finds him, and Matt's with her. They drive off in the Gustav, but then Helmut calls and points out that they're near the wild Unenlagia heard ("What wild Uenelagia?" asks RD. He wasn't paying attention) and that there's an unknown large Zoid amongst them. This, of course, gets RD's attention and he goes out to chase the Unenlagias. Matt takes off after him on a Hoverbike.
Chasing some poor Unenlagias, RD comes across… the Energy Liger! Its standing there, looking big and bitey, when suddenly… pow! Blake opens fire on it. The EL runs off, and he and RD have a shouting match. RD leaves, and Blake goes off chasing after the EL. He takes a few shots at it, but then it knocks it off his bike, and runs off.
And then Luke shows up. Luke takes Blake to a secret underground hanger, and unveils a new Zoid that he developed – the Gai Ryuki (Renamed Gai Ryuki Fury. Huh?). He gives it to Blake, who's very impressed with its power. Luke also points out that it's alive or something to that effect.
RD's still chasing Unenlagias, when… POW! Blake turns up. The two shout some more, then decide to fight. Blake lets RD fuse, simply because he wants to fight it. RD combines, then attacks Blake… However, before his SLC attack hits, Gekkou separates from Gary and hovers in its path, forming an E-Sheild. Luke points out that Gary has "automatic defense systems" that can be used to protect it, and make the Gary "Effectively a Fuzor". Blake is impressed, then separates Hein and uses the pair of them to attack RD.
LZP is badly damaged and knocked down, the Phoenix separating from it. Blake charges his CPG and gets ready to blast RD, when the Phoinex gets up and rams him. Angered, Blake blasts the Phoenix again. Damaged and burning, the Phoenix rams him a second time and explodes, apparently not doing any damage.
Satisfied that he's badly damaged LZ and destroyed the Phoenix, Blake leaves, laughing as he goes. As RD and Matt watch, an energy bird thingamie rises out of the wreckage of the Phoenix and flys off…
