This episode begins with Blake evaluating his new Zoid: The Buster Eagle, which will be piloted by Luke so it can fuse with the Berserk Fury.
A jump occurs, to Team Mach Storm's Head Quarters. It's no surprise to see they are watching the news about Zoid battles. During the news, some Zoid Doctor comes on and reveals that all Zoids have the potential to fuse, but RD can't stand thinking that Liger Zero needs to be changed. Dan is overwhelmed by the news though, and he begins searching for each Zoids fuzor match for Mach Storm, after reporting to the team that Liger Zero's armor possibilites do not contain any data about Fuzors (this is the first time we see the Schnider, Panzer, and Jager units on Fuzors even though it is only on a computer screen). RD can't stand all the Fuzor talk, so he leaves to the park.
Once he arrives at the park, he is met by Ciao and Deed. Deed begins discussing the potential of fuzing with RD, and Ciao gets mad. She thinks Deed is being unsensitive. Deed's words manage to calm RD though, and when he returns to base he gets some good news, RD is going on his first offical mission with Helmut and Sigma. There mission is to round up some wild Zoids, but where did the wild Zoids come from?
It ends up that these wild Zoids were placed there by Blake and Luke. After luring RD away from Mach Storm, the two get into a fight where Buster Eagle and Berserk Fury fuse for the first time. Liger Zero alone can't handle them, and the combined power of their Fuzors makes RD realize that Liger Zero will now need to fuse to defeat them. Unfourtanently, Luke and Blake aren't going to give him that chance, but Ciao and Deed show up as members of the Peace Keeping Bureau. It's their mission to arrest Blake, Luke, and RD for having an illegal Zoid battle on grounds that weren't approved for Zoid battles, but the Buster Fury fuzor blasts them with his partical beam laser and begins assaulting RD again.
After wondering where RD has disappeared to and completing the mission, Helmut hears some blasts in the distance and decides to investigate it. When he heads in the direction of the battle field, a mysterious Zoid flies over his head. Just as Blake and Luke are about to finish off Liger Zero, the mysterious Zoid enters the battle. RD gains the diagnostics of the mysterious Zoid, which is the Fire Phoenix, and realizes that it can fuse with the Liger Zero. The Fire Phoenix didn't need to fuse, though, as it's ability to go supersonic destroys most of the Buster Fury's weapons systems. They have just enough power left to fly back to their base for repairs.
RD thinks the Fire Phoenix and Liger Zero are friends from the past, but then Fire Phoenix goes supersonic against Liger Zero causing him to have a command system freeze. Helmut finally arrives on the scene, and he sees RD stanring into the sky. In the distance we see the Fire Phoenix flying off, and RD wonders just what power Liger will have when he finally gets to fuse.
